INVISALIGN

Being an alternative to dental braces, Invisalign makes use of a series of custom-made, transparent aligners that gradually move the teeth to their right position. Invisalign is comfortable to wear, almost invisible, and very easy to remove. You can easily remove them for any special occasion and maintain a healthy mouth throughout the treatment.
Having the perfect smile with beautiful pearly whites is what everyone wishes for. And with today’s modern technology, straightening your teeth isn’t as difficult as it seemed before. Invisalign provides a hygienic and modern way to treat misaligned teeth.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Before making your decision, it is very important to consult a highly-experienced orthodontist to discuss about the best solution for your dental problems. Your orthodontist will start by taking X-rays, impressions and pictures of the teeth, after which he/she will send them to Align Technology. The dental photographs will then undergo a CT scan from which a digital 3-D model of the teeth will be created. After examining these three-dimensional images, your orthodontist will recommend an accurate treatment plan for you. With the 3-D technology, your orthodontist can even provide a virtual demonstration of the movement of your teeth with each phase of treatment.

A series of transparent aligners will be custom-designed specifically for you. These custom-designed aligners are composed of comfortable, smooth BPA-free plastics, which will not cause irritation in your gums and cheeks compared to conventional metal braces. You can wear them all through the day, and take them out while eating, brushing or flossing the teeth. With the help aligners, your teeth will gradually start moving to their right position. And since invisaligns are virtually invisible, you don’t have to worry about how your teeth will appear to others.

You’ll be required to wear a different set of aligners after every two weeks, leading you to the next phase of the treatment plan. Moreover, you will have to visit your doctor every six weeks for occasional dental checkups. And what’s amazing is the fact that with each phase of your treatment, your orthodontist will show you how close you are from getting the smile of your dreams.

While each case is different, orthodontic treatment usually takes around a year for people over the age of 18 years. For teenagers, the treatment period can be compared to that of dental braces, but because the teeth will not be covered by brackets and wires, you can see your perfect teeth much sooner. To get the most effective results, it is recommended to wear your aligners for around 20 to 22 hours every day, during the period of your treatment.

Follow-Up

After getting the perfect smile that you always desired, it is very important to take proper care of your oral health. This can be done by brushing and flossing the teeth on a regular basis as well as visiting a dental clinic every six months.
